I admire people that have the courage to be their most authentic self. I find inspiration in the journeys we take to most authentically express who we are, and I am curious about the struggles and delights that this entails. Everyone has their own journey – we are all different, yet the same. I started photographing my transgender friends and neighbors in Sayulita, Mexico where I live. The project started growing quite organically, and because I travel a great deal with my work, I have the opportunity to photograph people from all parts of the world. This project has brought me so much joy and I am eager to share what I capture in the hope of encouraging each of us to simply be who and what we are.
